“The mind can weave itself warmly in the cocoon of its own thoughts, and dwell a hermit anywhere”

The brief was to design an art installation for an event which showcases apparel designer Ritu Kumar’s work. The weave is the fundamental building block of any textile or apparel related art. The installation is a celebration of weaves beyond fabric. The base structure is inspired by the wing structure of a dragonfly and represents weaves in nature. Transparent nylon wires are used to create delicate gossamer surfaces which can be seen only when they are lit, creating a secondary woven landscape which is subtle yet powerful. Weaves of thought are expressed on a screen through technology using randomly generated art created using code.
